While I'm all for the cinnamon rolls and other baked sweets, this Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread brings a more savory baked option to the brunch or breakfast table while paying homage to an "everything" bagel with cream cheese.

Brunch may very well be my favorite meal. There seems to be no rules when it comes to classifying something as a brunch food.  After a good brunch a long nap is almost a requirement and I usually don't worry about cooking something for dinner as we've usually hit our calorie limit for the day.

Known more in it's sweet form, pull apart bread is also called "monkey bread" or "bubble bread". All involve small pieces of dough, either bread or biscuit, baked in a Bundt pan with some sort of sauce or seasonings mixed in. After it's baked, it's inverted onto a serving plate and creates a delicious looking pastry ring. No need to slice the pull apart bread, as it's meant to be pulled apart by the small pieces of dough making it perfect for entertaining.

    Everything Bagel Seasoning

Everything bagel seasoning has just recently come into my life. I would often pass it in the grocery store aisle and be intrigued with what I could make with it. I've seen it put on toast, sprinkled on scrambled eggs and even used to season chicken breasts. If you can't find everything bagel seasoning at your grocery store, you can easily make your own:

    • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
    • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
    • 2 teaspoons dried garlic flakes
    • 2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
    • 1-¼ teaspoons kosher sal

How To Make Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease the sides and bottom of a 9 inch Bundt pan.

Open 2 cans of refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Kitchen shears work really well for this, or a clean pair of scissors. Place the biscuit pieces in a large mixing bowl.

    Raw biscuits on countertop

Next, melt butter in the microwave. I prefer using unsalted butter for this recipe since the bagel seasoning includes kosher salt and I don't want the bread to become too salty. Add the melted butter to the biscuit pieces along with the everything bagel seasoning. Mix with a rubber spatula until pieces are well coated.

Place about half the biscuits down into the bottom of the Bundt pan. I like to add them by dropping individual pieces around, being sure not to press them down. Take half the cream cheese and "dot" small pieces in and on the dough. When baked, you want each little piece to have some cream cheese on it. Top with the remaining biscuits and repeat with the rest of the cream cheese.

Bake 35-40 minutes until deep golden brown. You may be tempted to take it out before then, but you need to be sure the middle is well done. The pull apart bread should spring back when poked down. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. The Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread tastes best right out of the oven when it's piping hot.

I hope a good brunch is in your near future. This Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread would make an excellent addition to any brunch table!
