Frozen ravioli has always been one of my go-to freezer staples. Most nights, it's a quick dump-and-bake dinner with sauce and cheese (and zero complaints from anyone at the table).

Skip the premade breaded ravioli and make your own using plain frozen ravioli. It's a must try!

Quick Look at this Toasted Ravioli Recipe

  • Time: ~30 minutes
  • Method: Breaded + baked (no deep frying)
  • Best for: Appetizers, lunches, or easy dinners
  • Bonus: Kid-friendly + freezer-friendly

Ingredient Notes

  • Frozen cheese ravioli - No need to thaw. Switch up the flavor by using the cheese and spinach filled ravioli
  • Eggs + milk - Helps the coating stick
  • Italian breadcrumbs - Already seasoned with Italian seasoning for big flavor
  • Parmesan cheese - Adds that salty, savory bite

How to Make Toasted Ravioli

This is one of those recipes that looks impressive but is really very simple. I won't tell if you don't!

Prep - Set up your assembly line. Take two shallow dishes and whisk egg and milk in the first and bread crumbs & parmesan cheese in the second.

This is a great way to get kids in the kitchen to help bread the ravioli!

Bread the Ravioli - Dip frozen ravioli into the egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture. Gently press the breadcrumbs onto the ravioli so they are well-coated. Place on a greased wire rack set over a baking sheet.

The baking rack lets heat circulate so the ravioli get crispy all around, no soggy bottoms here (any GBBO fans?).

Dipping station for ravioli with a bowl of egg and milk, and another bowl of italian breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.

Bake - Bake at 425 degrees for 18-20 minutes until the ravioli is golden brown and nice and crispy. No hot oil to mess with! Serve them hot. Sprinkle with some grated parmesan cheese for a delicious garnish!

Serving Tips

Crispy toasted ravioli are made for dipping, but how you serve them can take things up a notch, especially if you're feeding a crowd.

Dipping Sauces

  • Marinara sauce - The classic (and always a hit)
  • Alfredo sauce - Creamy and rich with even more cheesy goodness!
  • Pesto - Fresh, herby flavor
  • Ranch dressing - Kid-approved and surprisingly good

Quick Tip: Set out a few different sauces and let everyone mix and match. It's a fun way to serve these for parties or game day.

How to Serve Toasted Ravioli

  • Appetizer style: Pile onto a platter with a bowl of warm marinara in the center
  • For a crowd: Keep batches warm in a 200°F oven while you finish baking the rest
  • Make it a meal: Serve with a simple salad and garlic bread
  • Lunch idea: Pair with a side of marinara and some fresh fruit for an easy, kid-friendly plate

Air Fryer Version - Bread the ravioli and place them in a single layer in the basket and air-fry at 350 minutes for 8-10 minutes. Flip the ravioli halfway through cooking.

Storage Tips

Leftover raviolis will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them back on a wire rack and heat at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 4-6 minutes. Avoid using the microwave as it will make the breading soggy.

Freezing (Make-Ahead Friendly!)

Want to save some for later? Freezing the toasted ravioli works great when you need lunch fast.

  • Bake ravioli as directed, then cool completely
  • Freeze in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet
  • Transfer to a freezer bag or container once frozen

To reheat from frozen - Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes until heated through and crispy.
