Frozen raviolis are one of my favorite freezer staples. They are perfect for a busy weeknight to create an easy meal that is equal parts quick & delicious. When I need to get dinner on the table fast, I take a bag of frozen ravioli and dump it into a baking dish. Pour over a jar of marinara sauce and sprinkle it with mozzarella cheese before popping it in the oven. Serve with some garlic bread & a side salad and dinner is served. Who knew you'd be getting two recipes in one post, lucky you!

I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi and have purchased their premade breaded ravioli many times. If you've followed me for a while, you know I love creating my own versions of these products at home like I did with these Baked French Toast Sticks. These Crispy Baked Ravioli really aren't much more difficult than opening a bag of premade ones, but they are oh so delicious!

I've served these Crispy Baked Ravioli as both an appetizer and a quick lunch. These little squares of crispy, cheesy goodness are the perfect handheld food that go perfectly with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

How To Make Crispy Baked Ravioli

With the help of some store-bought shortcuts, these Crispy Baked Ravioli are so easy to make! This makes them perfect for game-day or served with a salad for a quick lunch.

Prep - first, set up your assembly line. This recipe for Crispy Baked Ravioli is one that is great for little hands to help with and a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen. Take two shallow dishes and combine milk & eggs in the first and bread crumbs & parmesan cheese in the second. Italian bread crumbs have all the herbs & spices mixed in to give the breading great flavor. Set your assembly line up on your counter and let your kids learn the sequence of how to bread the ravioli!

Bread - take the frozen raviolis and dip them in the egg mixture first, then the bread crumbs. Place the breaded ravioli on a greased wire rack that's set on a baking sheet. Baking the ravioli on a wire rack helps the heat circulate all the way around and avoids a soggy bottom. Nothing worse than a soggy bottom (any Great British Baking Show fans out there?).

Bake - bake the Crispy Baked Ravioli at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes until the ravioli is golden brown and nice and crispy. Serve them hot!

    Dipping Sauce Ideas

The most obvious thing to use as a dip for these Crispy Baked Ravioli is a bowl of marinara sauce. While that's all fine and dandy, it's fun to switch things up. Some other dipping sauce ideas include:

    • Alfredo sauce
    • Pesto
    • Ranch dressing - try my Homemade Ranch Dressing recipe!

Quick tip: Another fun idea for entertaining is to have an assortment of these dipping sauces so your guests can try some or all of them with the ravioli!

Can You Freeze Crispy Baked Ravioli?

Yes! These Crispy Baked Ravioli freeze well so you can pull all or some of them out later to satisfy a hunger craving. Follow the recipe entirely then cool the ravioli to room temperature. To freeze, lay the baked ravioli in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer until the ravioli freeze solid. Then, move them to a freezer bag or container for storage.

To reheat, place frozen Crispy Baked Ravioli on a wire rack on a baking sheet in a 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.

Can They Be Made In An Air Fryer?

Air fryers are all the rage these days. The number one question I get about some of my recipes is if they can be made in an air fryer. Air fryers are essentially a countertop version of a convection oven, which circulates hot air around the food to create a crispy, "fried" effect. To make these Crispy Baked Ravioli in an air fryer, bread the ravioli and place them in a single layer in the basket and cook at 350 minutes for 8-10 minutes. Flip the ravioli halfway through and spray with non-stick spray to help them crisp up even more, if desired.
