Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. garlic minced
  • 1-1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 3 tbsp. prepared pesto jarred or homemade
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for a minute.
6 tbsp. butter, 2 tsp. garlic
  2. Add in heavy cream and bring mixture to a simmer.
    1-1/2 cups heavy cream
  3. Reduce heat to low and whisk in parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
    2 cups parmesan cheese
  4. Add pesto and stir until combined. Season with salt & pepper if needed. Serve over pasta.
3 tbsp. prepared pesto, salt & pepper to taste

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Start with 3 tablespoons pesto and add more to taste.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water or heavy cream to loosen it.
  • Taste before adding salt since both Parmesan and pesto can be salty.
