Here’s how to cut watermelon into sticks, the easiest way to turn a juicy summer favorite into a kid-friendly, party-ready snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 watermelon 8-12 pounds works best

Equipment

  • large cutting board
  • sharp chef's knife

Method
 

  1. Give the watermelon a good wash under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. Cut watermelon in half horizontally (around the equator).
  3. Place one half face down on the cutting board. Make 1 inch vertical cuts across the watermelon.
  4. Rotate the watermelon or cutting board 90 degrees and repeat the 1 inch vertical cuts to create a grid pattern.
  5. Repeat with the second half of watermelon. Serve!
