How to Cook Bacon in the Oven (With Aluminum Foil)

5 from 2 votes
Cooking bacon in the oven is one of my favorite kitchen hacks. It's an easy way to make crispy bacon that doesn't take up stovetop space, there's no dealing with grease splatters, and using aluminum foil makes cleanup a breeze. Once you try this recipe, you'll never make bacon on the stove again!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 9 servings
Course: meat, Side Dish
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 # bacon or however much you need to cook!

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Lay bacon slices onto sheet pan so they are not touching. More than one pan may be needed.
  3. Place sheet pan on the middle rack of your oven. Bake for 12-20 minutes until bacon is done. If doing multiple pans, rotate them about halfway through cooking.
  4. Remove from the oven and place bacon slices on paper towels to remove excess grease.

Notes

  • Timing will vary depending on thickness of bacon and your oven which is why the cooking time range is so broad. Start checking the bacon at 12 minutes and keep baking until dark golden and crispy.
