Ingredients

  • 2 # chicken wings & drummies thawed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • ¼ tsp. ginger ground
  • green onions for garnish
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • Sheet Pan
  • Wire Rack
  • Hoisin Sauce
  • Saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a shallow dish combine flour, salt, pepper & garlic powder. Grease a wire rack that is set on top of a sheet pan.
  2. Using a paper towel, pat dry chicken and coat in flour mixture. Place chicken wings on wire rack. Bake for 40-45 until chicken reads an internal temperature of 165.
  3. While chicken is cooking, in a small saucepan combine hoisin, soy, honey & ginger. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat.
  4. Remove chicken from the oven and place in a large mixing bowl. Pour over sauce and toss until well coated. Place chicken wings back on the wire rack and put back in the oven on the broil setting. Broil 3-4 minutes.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings will yield anywhere between 20-25 wings depending on their size.
