Homemade Lemonade Iced Tea

There's nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than a tall glass of this Homemade Lemonade Iced Tea! The freshly squeezed lemonade is flavored with a mint simple syrup and the iced tea is so simple to make. Serve on it's own or spiked!

Ingredients

Iced Tea

  • 5 black tea bags
  • 4 cups water

Lemonade

  • 3 cups water divided
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup lemon juice about 4-5 lemons
  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • lemon slices for garnish
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Iced Tea

  • In a saucepan heat water to a boil. Turn off the heat and add tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and pour tea in a container to cool.

Lemonade

  • In a saucepan combine 1 cup of water and sugar. Bring to a boil and add about 8 mint leaves. Boil for 2 minutes until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow syrup to sit for 10 minutes., then remove mint leaves.
  • Add simple syrup to the other 2 cups of water and lemon juice. Stir well & cool.

Homemade Lemonade Iced Tea

  • Either combine all lemonade and tea together in a large pitcher or fill an individual glass with your desired ratio of lemonade and tea. Garnish with lemon slice and mint leaves.

Notes

Adult version: Add a shot of your favorite vodka or bourbon to the Homemade Lemonade Iced Tea for a grown-up drink!
Any ratio of tea to lemonade can be used, depending on your preference. I like mine half & half!
